Shaders/lens/effects/projectiles WTH?!?!?!

1st off, i tip my hats off to you guys, just looking through the MOTM and stuff, i'm blown away by the mods some of you make. Here's a question to some of you guys. i've read through all 34 pages of this general forum, every page of the tutorial forum and have a luke warm understanding of how some of you make some of these weapons and effects(whatever you call em)

things like this, not once have I seen any type of tut on how to do stuff like this. i understand tinkering with these effects and learn what looks best together. but could someone post some tuts on how to make some decent looking effects like the one pictured above. i understand some may not want other people to copy there stuff. but i'm sure i'm not the only person here that would follow that tut, see that they created what was supposed to make, and then venture off into customizing it. PLEASE someone create like a basic how to or even a in depth thing about how these awesome effects are created. thank you guys and keep on modding, hell. you guys do a better job with halo 2 than the people who created the game

Open the Effe tag. Scroll down to the weapons, and click on lets say, The needler Firing effect. In the Dependancies window it should have alot of Pmov and Prt3's i think (might be off a letter or 2), you can randomly change those to different things, such as Fire, rings, water, its kinda fun. There's also usually a !snd tag, where you can edit the firing sound.

thanks for the help. kinda curious if some people might be interested in sharing their custom made weapons, like with what they did and maybe have a pic of the results. It'd be really neat to have something like that as a list for new modders to try out and get the hang of everything. hopefully someone will agree with me and contribute to this list. Please help, i'm eager to learn but i'd like to be able to follow some examples

Check the files forum for mods by Zenon. He is the effect master.

come on guys, this many modders and NO one wants to share any custom combination of effects and stuff!?!?!?!
can someone at least explain how to do the rings in the 3rd pic?

The Pmov is Light_ring_expand or something like that. That expands the ring of light
Who'd figure eh?

thanks man, like i said. i'm new to this, i can gather info on basically anything i wanna do with modding. cept the coolest thing, editing the weapon effects, i can do all the projectile swaps and stuff and other things, but there is nothing on things like this. thanks for your help though, i'm going to check it out tonight. right now, i have the rocket launcher exploding with the big needler explosion, kinda lame, but other effects could make it better. you got any good combos you recommend or use? i'm open to ideas

Making the effect is one of the most fun parts of the effect. The whole process of opening a gun, setting fire, explosion smokes, flames, rings, and sparks, then finding out all it does is shoot out smoke, and having to do it all over again...its fun!

It's all easily achieved through plugins and dependency swaps.

If I use the Pmov and Prt3 to create some new Firing effect, Impact effect, etc. would other be able to see them online?

so say i'm making a custom sanctuary, i've already swapped the PP and rocket launcher, so the RL spawns where PP does. could someone explain exactly what of the rocket launcher i can change, (and example of what to change it to) to make all these different effects. I realize the possibilities are endless. but maybe an example of something cool, so i can try it out, cuz i've swapped the crap outta stuff and the only thing i've been able to see so far is the needler explosion thing and i'm really frustrated at this.

First of all, usually the Effects look better in third person, so dont be discouraged.
Ok. Rocket launcher is a bad place to start making weapon effects. Start with the Shotgun or something.(something that only has 1 effect, itl be easier)

so guns themselves have effects as well as projectiles? i have my shotty shooting tank shells, with sound and everything. if i change the effect of the weapon, will that mess up my projectiles? i do appreciate your help man, thanks. are there any effects/shaders whatever that you know will produce a cool effect?
