Name: Covenant Intelligence Research Facility (CIRF)

Map: Coagulation

Description: During the latest of the Covenant raids on Earth, the Master Chief managed to sieze an attacking Scarab. The Scarab is stored in the secret location once known as Area 51, the Covenant Intelligence Research Facility.

Changes:
  • Scarab in the center of the map with two Gravity lifts on either side (one per team).
  • Rocket Launcher -> Heavenly Strike = A Covenant version of a nuclear bomb. Nicknamed by researchers as the 'Heavenly Strike' because of its beauty as it slowly falls from the sky to wipe out everything in a wide area. Located inside the Scarab, but with no ammo. The ammo can be found in only one place, and will not spawn again for the rest of a 7 minute game.
  • Battle Rifle -> Assualt Rifle = Standard issue automatic rifle.
  • Sentinel Beam -> Flamethrower = Located in several locations around the facility are Flamethrowers. These dont do much damage due to the armour of the Spartans.
  • Plasma Pistol -> Hunter Beam = Not much to say about this... its a Hunter Beam (looks like a Sentinel Beam but is green).
  • Sniper Rifle -> ?? = Probably just some effect changes.
  • Dead bodies of two grunts which were siezed are placed on the teleporters of each base, one red grunt and one blue.
  • Elite replaced with Heretic Elite.
~~~
I hope to keep this map fully System Link compatible.
This will be my first, real released mod. I have started work on others but I lost interest in them. With this mod, I hope to complete it! :lol:
Update #2
Well I've finally got the Flamethrower to work and got the Scarab to spawn in the center I should also be getting a cool new Battle Rifle model to use in the map! :)
Flamethrower: Replaces Rocket Launcher ammo
Image
Scarab: Replaces Rocket Launcher. The Rocket Launcher (Heavenly Strike) can be found on the Scarab now
Battle Rifle model:
I should be getting that model to use in my mod. But dont get your hopes up for it. It might not work or he might not even send it (even though he said he would)
I will probably move the teleporter from the base to its recieving end, then the reciever on top of the Scarab. I haven't tried this yet, so I hope it works! :)
probably cause of copyright laws, im not sure, i dont understand it though if it is copyright. you bought it legally, u should be able to do with it what you please, then again, if u realeased it to someone with out halo, they would have something they didnt buy.....
just take the model and change a few verticies, that way it is kinda your model, then you can release it
yeah its copy righted
and change some verticles will not make it more legal, like sinse we edit the map file, we can`t share the whole map.
that dosnt make sense, cause ppl have been releasing there mods, not only as patches but as .map files, wich i think is easier, who cares if its not a patch, tho i can understand if they dont have the mapfile to begin with
Halo 2 Mod Formats
Full map files are not allowed to be posted. Only some type of patch file is allowed, such as a PPF or Serenity patch files.
There are a few reasons for this: First of all, full map files are much larger in size than a patch file is. Also, patches aren't copyrighted, but maps are; HaloMods could potentially get in trouble for hosting these. Finally, having the map enables people to easily rip them, while you cannot extract tags from a patch. HaloMods does not condone ripping.
If you do post a full map file, it will be immediately removed from your post. After the link has been removed, you have 24 hours to place a new download that complies with the rules or your topic will be deleted.
just get it posted on "the usual places" and say that where it is in there(xbox/...). since if you are modding H2 you will have to have a modded xbox and thus know how to get to "the usual places".
that way HaloMods can't get crap from anyone because they aren't hosting the file!
If I were to host the patch on my own server, do you think it would be allowed? If not, I'll have to make a 'HaloMods' friendly version of my mod. The full version will be added on my site.
My site's in my sig :)
If Bungie dont like it, they can say so. I think the Mimesis team is more likely to get in trouble than me since they're hosting FULL maps.
