Ok lets go with that. He wants us to improve on it, which is pointless if you've done all your modding with other peoples apps, then magically decide you'll work on dark matter, which is a fairly complicated application. In order to be able to work on it, you'd have to know alot about halo 2's map format. The best way to learn about halo 2's map format, is to read Iron_Forges white paper, and write your own application.

I'm not trying to be mean, it just pointless to try and jump into something you dont know alot about.

I just wanted to look at it and hopefully learn sumthing from it. Its not like im planning to do some big update and go release it.
I already basically understand how the .map file format works(im not saying im a pro like iron forge but i think i do understand basically how it works).

but w.e i thought id have a look at the source since it was released, if u dont want to help me out u dont have to, just forget i even asked

This is IFs white paper, I suggest reading it you you want to learn stuff about halo 2 Map format.

shade if u dont even know if its vb.net then im guessing u wont be able to finish because u probaly dont now anything about coidng

either learn vb6 fully and move to vb.net or learn vb.net before attempting to do this kind of stuff because its not for newbs.
