Everone on this site knows ssomething on ftping so here it is...when i try to ftp i can connect to the box but then it says timed out, i dont think the box is answering or something...any suggesyions?

Make sure your not in a game, or menu besides the main menu, then try. Make sure you have the same ip on your xbox typed in on your pc, same goes for the rest.

thanks but all thats a given anything else on the actuall box or stuff i should change, could it be a defective crossover cable...is that un heard of?

Try it on both DHCP and static.

Also, the cable may have gone bad, yes. If you made it out of a patch cable, make sure the connections are right.

And check the writing on the side of the cord. If it says patch anywhere it's not a crossover.

Or if its not a wierd kind of cable, just cut the 2 green and 2 orange wires and put green-orange, and striped green-striped orange. That will turn it to crossover.

Thanks for all the suggestions but sadly no good. Its weird i havent changed anything form when it worked to when i doesnt (too the best of my knowledge). Also it doesnt work on DHCP or STATIC plus ive tried 3 different computers with 2 programs on each. Also I tried to mod my un-modded xbox to see if it was the cable and it worked so it must be the box. I cant even rervert back to the ms dash because it was deleted in the confusion. I need to ftp to get it back. Thanks for all that will and have helped. I will keep checking and updating (P.S. this is a better response than i got at xbox-scene so sry for the wrong site but if it works....)

EDIT: it is a crossover it says "(UL) E129760-C CM UTP 24AWG CAT5E CROSSOVER"

EDIT: Also it says in the evolutionX dash that there are no users on the bottom left... jsut thought ide include it...tank
