How do i changes the names of the weapons without using a hex editor

cant some super moddder out there assit me come on a little help

Boy your working on some great mod arnt ya but i dont think you can change it without a hex editor. If your having peroblems make sure that the name you give is as long or or shorter than the origional.

fine if everyone thinks it will be better to use a hex editer someone explain how ...and yes i am working hardcore on a mod right now i just pulled an all nighter working and testing it out fun stuff ...lol

Its pretty simple and theres probobly a tutorial somewhere but is so simple ill just explain it.

1.Get a hex editor (search google for a free one if you dont have one or use dothalo)
2. Open the map you want to name the name of the weopons with the hex editor.
3. Now either use the programs search ability and search the name of the weapon or click in the text section of the program (not the numbers letters) and press ctrl+fand search with that
4. change the name but like i said ealier it must be as long or shorter.

5. if your going to make it shorter always insert the name then put spaces in place of the rest of the letters of the origional weapons name. if you got that. if not this is what i mean

origional insert name Get rid of the rest
needler augdler aug
italized is the new name and bold is the real name

so do i lmao ill post back as to if it worked out

actually theres a program out by coolspot that renames strings

coolspot ? is that a person or a group of ppl or a website what ?
