Hello,
I am trying to manually add the new 9 maps to the mainmenu.map.
First question.. Is there any kind of ppf or anythnig out there to save me the work? if not....
2. Is there a 49 map limit to the mainmenu.map? I have 47 maps currently on there, and I want to keep them all, so I was wondering if there was a way to increase that 49 number?
3 If I have to add the new maps.. Is there any easy way to extract the photos from somewhere to put in the mainmenu so the maps have pictures...
Any help would be great.. thanks

haha.. right... forgot about the 0.. You logic still doesn't do me any good..
BTW... I don't care what anyone says, it will always be blackout in my heart. That is my favorite map.. In the universe... Cassiopia sound too womany for me.....
So what do you guys think? Am I going to have to kill 7 modded maps for this? And what about the ppf and icon thing..

yes theres a 50 map limit and its not in the mainmenu, it would be located in the xbe

Iron forge did an attempt at this. I don't know how large or small but i know it did not work.

no you wouldnt want to "hex" it, you would want to decompile it and edit the assembly commands. i have a couple ideas on how i could locate the max map constant so ill give it a shot and see what i can do.

Yeah, a while back Iron_Forge and I both gave the mainmenu 100 slots for maps to be added. But Halo 2 crashes after caching the MM whenever the total MP maps (the DLC and in the MM) in use are greater than 50.
So yeah, unless we completely missed something, its an engine limit... I have zero ASM knowlege - maybe xbox7887 can take a crack at the xbe (pun intended
) (that 3P stuff is looking very sexy, by the way).

yea ill work on the map slots after im done with the camera trainer. maybe i can get a general idea where the constant is by taking mem dumps of the mainmenu with 12 slots, and then comparing one with 15...u get the idea

Maybe its crashing because of a GPF(General Protection Fault), from either not allocating enough memory, or a buffer overflow?

i doubt thats the case, theres actually lots of limits placed on the game. for instance it seems that you can only have 100 collection items, 101 will break it
i really dont think 1 extra item would cause an overflow error

I dont know, It might. But it all depends on what the programmers decided to do... A dissassembly might help, but I dont want to go through thousands of lines of intel assembly just for some more maps on the mainmenu
