I have been looking lately at different mods for halo 2, but i never actaully knew how to do them. there are many things i would like to know, and i would like for them all to be answered here, in this thread, so i can go through them easily and not have to look around. can you please correct me if something i have wont work, and tell me what I need.

my xbox does not have a modchip, it was soft-modded. will this work?

i have not replaced my xbox harddrive, to make it bigger, so i was wondering it its possible to copy halo 2 to the computer, mod it, and then burn it to a dvd. will this work? if it doesnt i can put it on my xbox harddrive.

if both of these are possible, whats next?

some things i would like to know:

can you please list an exact step by step tutorial on how to do these, so that i can understand. NOTE: i am not familiar with all the modding terms, so could you pleae explain.

- can you add more maps to the game without having to replace an original map? what is needed in order to do this and could someone give me an exact tutorial on how to do this once halo 2 is on the computer or xbox harddrive.

- i heard that skinning is quite easy, so i would like to know an exact tutorial on what to do once you put halo 2 on ur computer or xbox harddrive, for, lets say, a warthog skin. also could you list programs needed, and if possible the tutorial that will explain step by step.

- changing weapon projectiles. how is this done and i would also like a step by step tutorial on how to do this once i put halo 2 on my compuer or xbox harddrive.

- im thinking i should wait on maps, because they might be a little more complicated, but if you want could you explain the process.

i know i might sound demanding, but i am just asking for all these things so i know what im doing and so that i dont mess up. i will also be looking around the site for more tutorials, but i would like all the ones i need to be in this thread, for easy access.

thanks for all your help guys.

Most, if not all, of your questions here can be anwered by searching. I'm not saying this to be an asshole and discorge people from helping you, if someone is willing to post tutorials here, go ahead.

Most people here wont help you unless they can see you are helping yourself, I meet alot of people who wont even try to find stuff, or even try to do anything by themselves, they just want direct links and easy to follow step by step instructions. Well they way I feel about it is, I wont help you until i can see you have at least tried, as for modding, i suggest you start veiwing the threads and alot of questions you have are right on the title, you can see a topic , read the follow ups and apply it to your problems. I suggest you download all of the halo2 map editing tools and make yourself farmiliar with them... than when you have specific questions, people might help..

oh and one more thing, never post a thread with like 50 questions in it man, it is quite overwhelming and alot of people will just pass it up... lol

everything i know i have learned from the search button, asking noob questions wont get you anywhere because you will only get answers like these, i learned that and learned to search i suggest you do the same, this forum isnt gonna baby you by giving you direct links or writing long tutorials, i personally would not help you even if you said you searched because your questions are covered evry two pages of this forum so yeah...I WILL however give you one direct link:http://www.halomods.com/forums/search.php

Actually there is, that way this forum wouldnt be cluttered with "how do you change speed?" or "how do i make a pistol shoot rockets" topics, if we just baby the newcomers theyll continually assume well answer every question they want even thought theres already a million topics about it, and after reading YOUR statement it leads me to believe you were one of those noobs who was babied, i wasnt which is why i have learned not to clutter the forums with uselsss crap like you so im glad people gave me a rough time
