How can i skin a warthog for the level im making and include it just for that map?

I did and have that tutorial but it says:

Make sure that mainmenu.map, shared.map, and sp shaered.map are in the same directory as the map your editing because the weapon and vehicle skins are external.

Im unsure of what that means.

EDIT: I just tried and it says MAP: Shared External.

how else can you explain it, its pretty clear

b4 u start goin off that people are too mean around here, let me explain something. there is a reason why things are stickied on the front pages....they are either important news info, or it is a tut applying to a problem that many people have encounted before. The mods put these stickies up in hopes that *new* users will read BEFORE posting, in order to keep these forums semi-organized and clean. The reason we want the forums semi-organized and clean? Well, to keep the search button in use. As you've noticed, whenever you search for a semi-vague topic, you will get results that have no relationship with the terms you've searched for....this is because of how cluttered the forums are....why are they cluttered? Because of posts that have the answers in the stickies. It is a never-ending circle that will be the downfall of these forums. THAT is why santa sounded a little harsh. I *hope* you learned somethin today. Have a good day

This is a good Tutorial; I really like skipping hexing when I can.

And just remember just because one person is rude, doesn't give you the right to be rude back; it just makes things worse.

Wow, thanx alot man... You have cleared up so much for me. I dont care how many tutorials are on the front page, I dont care if there was a tutorial on a sticky pad stapled to the guys face... there is no need to be so rude and sarcastic, these people come here for help, which is exactly why this site was founded... if you dont think so , then why are you here? You think this is a chat client? I completely understand having to manage the forums and try to keep them relevant, and weed out some of the redundant and re-occuring posts. But again, there is no need for halo modding noobs who have learned the basics to think they have the right to dismiss everyones questions with sarcasm and bilittlement, If you dont like what someone has posted here in the forums, well.. you dont have to reply now do you? and if you do need to re-direct someone try and do it in a professional and mature manner....

You know what.....you are right (sorta), and no, I'm not being sarcastic. Just because *some* new people can be ignorant and forget to glance over the stickies for answers doesn't give me the right to feel like I'm any better than they are.....to anyone reading this that thinks I've been a little short-tempered this week, well, I have been. I apologize.....my week did not go well, and the halomods forums is no place to take out my frustration. That still doesn't excuse the lack of effort some people have when trying to find and answer to a question.....I just wish some people would look around BEFORE making a new post that has probably been answered at least a dozen times before. But I will be more lenient and forgiveful in my posts towards the *new* people, because I know that I was new once as well. Anyway, sorry to anybody I offended or looked down upon
