Xbox to PC FTP connection

Post by cs5n531 »

Alrighty guys. Great site, its been very usefull, and I'm getting there :P. I've softmodded my xbox and im using the evox dash. I'm trying to set up the FTP connection between my xbox and pc.

This is what I'm working with:

PC:

IP Adress: 192.168.1.120
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

Xbox:

IP Adress: 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.100

How I have my Xbox and PC linked as of now is using the cable that allows me to play on Xbox Live (in the back of my xbox - ) to the back of my Linksys wireless router. My router is then connected to my computer.

I'm entirely lost, I've read every tutorial and forum known to man. I thought I over heated google Was so desprate . If you could please help me out that would be great. Thanks alot.

Looks like you xbox ip address is messed up. Never go by the first ip evox spits at you. Reboot then use that ip address that it gives you. Check the default ip that your computer gves you and compare it to the one your xbox has. Your xbox should be like 192.168.1.104 b/c your pc is 192.168.1.102. Your gateway should be 192.168.1.100 or something like that. I can tell your xbox is wrong b/c its 192.168.0 and not 192.168.1

first of all. when connecting to your xbox through an FTP program, set the default gateway to 000.000.000.000. Second of all, your xbox IP needs to be higher than you PC's IP (more on that below). Third, I also FTP via router....unless you have to NIC cards in your PC, you are going to have to do something special when FTP'ing to your xbox: You need to open network connections, right click your LAN connection and click properties, highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click properties, then click the little circle that says "use the following IP address." Type in something lower than what your xbox IP is (i.e. if xbox = 192.168.0.3, then type in 192.168.0.2)....subnet mask is always 255.255.255.0 and default gateway is blank. If this doesnt work, feel free to PM me and I'll be glad to help you  . I know how much a pain in the ass FTP'ing can be
