Warthog Races

I have a possable rule deppending on how you want this. No weapon mods, this means no proj swap on the horn or making the turret usable by the driver.

My nitro isnt a proj swap, it's actually an effe swap. I gave the horn a charging effect and the effect is what boosts the hog forward. I just thought that would be a good rule because the last thing we need is to be in a race and then get shot at just because one guy wanted to make the turret usable.

SLC = System Link Compatible
This might seem a bit OTT but how about making this into a new game sorta...im thinking:
-edit xbe to change download content path
-remove all the maps from the menu
This would mean people could have "Halo Races" or whatever its eventually called separate from there normal halo 2 game on there harddrive and maps can be easily added by putting them in the new downloadable content path (currently $C we could make this $Z for example)
And...we could start a Halo Race forum for people to post there hogs and maps

great idea xzodia sounds awsome and i will be playing my hog on xbc it should wok im supermodder911 on xbc and come see my hog its on coag but im addng it to another map soon and it is the best ill be on almost all day but gve me like 20 mins toget everything in place i gotta cross cables and stuff so 20 mins and come play xbc im supermodder911
you know we wouldnt be able to see most of the changes without a patch...

Well actually building hogs in from each competitor defines the purpose I think the custom hogs on each map are way better.xzodia wrote: lol I know, I'd be happy to help cause it would be awsome to get this working
and I said I might not be the only person who has discovered it, but I am the only person to show it and with custom collision being such a big thing it would suggest im the only person who has...
now I think we need to sort a few things out:
-So as to ensure SLC it would be better to have separate hogs which can be built into a map
-This would also make more people want to do it because it allows more creativity with skinning as such
-We could make a race track starter, im thinking:
-Containment (Lightmap doesnt make Machs green)
-Water only (no other SBSP stuff)
-A Start/Finish Line
-So way of winning
-Skinned Platforms of some type eg Machs(more than 1 type to allow things such as thin tracks)
-Anything else you can think of

supermodder911 and turk645: All racing warthogs are not allowed to even have the turret on the back. And defentily no weapons at all are allowed. Anyone with boost will be paired only with an oppenent that has boost as well.
EDIT: And to get something sorted out now, the Warthog Races Team will make the maps "tracks", with standard warthog settings, then others who download the map will inject there own. No map "track" will come with custom skinned warthogs. This makes everything alot simpler.

Supermodder no offense but you have no clue what we are doing and how we are doing this..., xzodia if we have everyone mail there hog specs in its gunna be crap because you will be stuck to that car for the rest of the mod, what we should do is have them send us their skins then their vehimods com in with SLC'ness.

No. Okay, I'm going to try this one more time. We, us, the Warthog Modding Team, are going to make a SINGLE map with, lets say, 5 warthogs. Each warthog will have the same standard settings as a warthog would have on a non-modded map. That map patch will be put up for download. A user will download the patch, patch the map. Then they will use the map editor of their choice (DotHalo) to edit their warthog settings, or inject a previous modded warthog. Then they'll patch it, ftp it to their xbox. Then start up halo host/join a game with another person that has done the something but with their own warthog settings. Once the map is loaded, no matter what warthog User 1 gets in, it will have User 1's settings (host or not), same goes for User 2, except he will have User 2's settings on each warthog. Okay, sorry for being so blunt and sarcastic, but I'm just trying to get through to everyone to what we are doing. As of right now, or whenever I get my computer fixed, that is what we are doing.
EDIT: And if any of the users want to edit their warthogs settings even more, they simply open the map back up, and edit the settings, then through it right back to their xbox. As for the Comps, that will be later on. Lets not jump ahead, it confuses the hell out of me. Sorry.

Yes that is what we should do, but make sure you spawn those hogs throught the itmc if we dupe them its gunna be a shit since we would need to mod all of the hogs. Also spawn about 16 of them 
Then after the tracks are concluded I can script in teleporters or maybe spawn air lifts or make containment gates appear magically
