Don't expect this to EVER happen. When bungie made coagulation, they didn't use anything, apart from the idea of what it should look like, from Halo 1. It's a completely different game engine and there would be tons of problems, even if it happened like handling elites, game only weapons, etc.
Is it possible? Yes.
Will it happen? No.
9/10s of modding was discovered by trial and error. There are still hundreds of things we don't know, and probably never will, about the game code. This kind of project would have a .00000000000000000000000000000001% chance of coming remotely close to working, being generous. It would still have hundreds of bugs. The only way this would be remotely feasible is if bungie releases the games' source codes. Then you need someone with a HELL of a lot of time. You might get something that can half work then. Maybe. If you're a lotto winner. And have an army of leprachauns. And... I'll stop now.
cool app someone should make
i would of thought that this project would be possible if time was devoted to it. Im not really with the halo1 scene but i assume from the custom maps i keep seeing its pretty much mapped out. Halo2 obviously not so much although id say we are near.
So if someone with extensive knowledge of halo1 and halo2 was to devote time to such a project im sure he could pull it off
