Can't open DDS in Photoshop

I'm trying to make my own emblem for halo 2 but I cant open the .DDS on Photoshop CS3.

Please help

Odd. Are you sure you're putting the plugin in the right place? Is the file you're trying to open corrupted maybe? What error do you get when you try opening it?

I have the plugin here:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Plug-Ins\File Formats

I get Error:
Could not complete your request because of a problem with the file-format module interface.

I think it could be the file. Do you know how to properly extract a dds file from mainmenu.map? like what program to use

Oh, is it A8R8G8B8 type image? I use Dot Halo for those, though I remember a newer program that can do it properly (a version of entity, I think; can't remember which one though).

As far as I know, all Entitys can extract them.

I'm getting a emblem dds file thing

ui\global_bitmaps\emblems\foreground

double clicked foreground and did Extract Bitmap on Image57

using dothalo and im still getting error

I'm not sure it would be a good idea to bump it.
What error do you get when you're trying to open Ch2r? You might need the .NET framework.

I don't see how .NET framework could be a problem since i have the below installed:
.NET Framework 1.1
.NET Framework 1.1 (hotfix)
.NET Framework 2.0
.NET Framework 3.0
