has anyone ever made a scarab drivable?

Discuss Halo 2 modding, progress on figuring things out, mapfiles...you know the drill. Cheating discussion not allowed.

see captainpoopface..i don't want it for play.i want it for a machinama me and a friend are making..i just want it so that it moves & the legs actually move wen you move it...the gun would be cool as well..but i just really need it for show...if the legs don't move then its pointless to me =/

i already saw one made for halo ce i think it was..which is where i got the idea. his worked just fine in moving & leg movements. only thing was the legs didn't touch until u drove it but still

I would make it move fast, and speed up the animations if possible. Then you could run around squashing people like ants. But it would get boring very fast.

So you'd really prefer drivable?
Why not automated?
To maybe go in a circle or circuit.

I mean seeming as it's a machinima you could well make it 'look' like your driving but not actually driving it

I could go more in depth but i guess you get the point :wink:

if ur able to do i then hell yea...that would be cool.but i prefer drivable so we can get in it w/o using yelo =/

i dont think thats really possible to drive a scarab without yelo.
unless your hosting?
youd have to fix the system-link after adding it in i'm sure.

its a long shot but...if they legs are scripted to move to certain points in campaign...why not script them to move in certain points in a multiplayer level...
it would be a lot of work to get the scarab to walk right...it would significantly more work to get it to be drivable and look halfway descent...

thats basically whats been suggested just not in those words, i think an automated one would work better, just because it would require less work. And if his friend had a patch with the scarab in it, it would show up for both box's? wouldn't it.

Couldn't you just use the map that has the scarab walking and swap bsp to the one you need, then see where it walks to. Just for a start.

As a start that would be good
Problems will occur with collisions and boundarys etc.
Map may fail to load.
Anything like that just to piss people off.
I'd suggest a large open map, e.g Waterworks or Coagulation

That would get you started ;)
