Making better graphics through a mod?

Post by adolif »

I want to make Halo 2 run with better graphics, can i do one of these 2 things?

Screen resolution, my softmod won't allow me to change it, is it still possible by forcing it? I'm using an analog TV.

Better lighting.....Is there a way to make the light's rendering better without texture or model changes, like, making the light bounce all around like halo 3?

If one of these 2 things is possible...how?

I apprieciate the help.

Pretty sure that sort of stuff would require editing the actual game engine. Which is not possible.

i am aware that ump v4 has an LOD remover
my guess is taht ump v5 does also.
use this LOD is the texture that comes into play when you are not relatively close to an opject. if you remove the LOD's from a map then you will see textures with the same quality across the map that you would when you are standing next to it.
the lighting i do not think would be possible. maybe adding a bloom effect to the lightmap but that would just make everything look like it glows or is very shiny.
