Renaming a new weapon?

OK, ive sen many maps with weapons renamed in-game, my question is, if u create a new weapon say by duplicating a battle rifle, can you rename the duplicated one and have the original battle rifle still say battle rifle?

yes; but it can be difficult; its the SID values I believe; you need to edit some unused strings, then relink them with the new gun; somebody else may be able to give you some more specific instructions on how this can be done.
