Moving AI
How do I get my AI to move around and stuff? They can shoot and turn, but nothing else. Ive heard talk about work on AI zones, and that those have something to do with it, if I'm mistaken, let me know, but how else would I do it? Thanks.

As far as I know, no one's gotten working AI zones into a map or area that didn't originally have them.
You can either script prescripted motions and paths, or edit the JMAD of the biped to make them auto-run instead of standing still. Kinda makes them look stupid when there's no enemies or when the enemy is on the other side of a wall or cliff, but it's the best there is so far.

Jmads editing is gay point blank, there is no possible way to get your AI to move with scripts, since the script compiler doesnt compile AI points, the only way to get AI to move is through zones, and like I've been saying for the past months, its in progress, and I cannot release much to the public.
Again with all this secrecy stuff, I don't get it with this community.Trulife8342 wrote:Jmads editing is *** point blank, there is no possible way to get your AI to move with scripts, since the script compiler doesnt compile AI points, the only way to get AI to move is through zones, and like I've been saying for the past months, its in progress, and I cannot release much to the public.

no, ofcourse he is going to release it when its finished, if he wasnt he wouldnt have even bothered to post that he was working on it and keep it to himself. i am also working with ai, i recomend for someone who is just getting into ai to just do the jmad swaps. really easybibbit wrote:Come on guys, why would you want it if he hasnt even figured it out all the way yet? He can release it when it's done.
Anyway, thanks for your kind attention.

It's possible to make AI move in prescripted movements, using cs_move_in_direction. Doesn't require AI zones, but there's not much you can do with that.Trulife8342 wrote:Jmads editing is *** point blank, there is no possible way to get your AI to move with scripts, since the script compiler doesnt compile AI points, the only way to get AI to move is through zones, and like I've been saying for the past months, its in progress, and I cannot release much to the public.
How come you can't release anything?
PS: Someone was saying something about you at ProjectMimesis's forums. Might want to clear that up/flame them/tell us if there's truth in that.

Im not sure what you mean by prescripted movements, but for AI to make elaborate decisions they need AI zones, and I cant release anything because I just cant so im sorry but im leaving it at that, and why do I care what some little kids have to say about that situation, for all those that wished me the best bless you, and if you didnt well then I could really care less, but that Uzzi guy can kiss my ass.
I would rather than information is shared, and you have partially working AI for temporary while they keep working on it.destroyer69 wrote:Would you rather have partially working AI now, or completed amazing AI later. Please, let the man work in peace.
Also when Information is shared, the community gets further. If everyone helped each other here it would be a much nicer place.

I've learned the hard way that it doesn't work that way, trust me, I want to make this clear so I guess then you guys could make a guess why I cant release any information, I'm not the "only" one working on AI in MP.-DeToX- wrote:I would rather than information is shared, and you have partially working AI for temporary while they keep working on it.destroyer69 wrote:Would you rather have partially working AI now, or completed amazing AI later. Actually beleive me, it can work that way fine. It depends the scenario.Trulife8342 wrote:I've learned the hard way that it doesn't work that way, trust me, I want to make this clear so I guess then you guys could make a guess why I cant release any information, I'm not the "only" one working on AI in MP.
Depends how far you are done, if you atleast got something that others can benefit from, it could be shared, then you can continue to find other things.
But if you say you can't, then you can't. Good luck with the project.

to get ai to move I think ( i'm only 50% possitive ) you need to not null out the think that says "Value is Too Large To Be The Indexer"
This value is the "AI Orders Index" so don't modify this, just leave it as is and your AI should move. Thats how it is set on this mod

Unfortunately I too have seen this. There have been bad things that have happened on this site due to people wanting applications or information. If people could just be patient and have fun modding, then we could have perfect conversions and injections now, but because people can be stupid modding has slowed to a standstill. You rarely see great new mods anymore because of somethings people just quit or are modding in there own secrecy not releasing their findings. So it hurts everybody. Let the AI work be released in time. I don't want history to repeat itself.
