[Unsolved] Saving stuff for later?

Post by KClaisse »

Say I mod the battlerifle to my liking. How would I save it so that I can apply it to another map?

But will I just be able to inject my saved gun into any map and it will just overwrite the existing one? Or do I have to delete the existing gun before injecting?

EDIT: Ok I just tried saving the meta and then injecting it, but now my battle_rifle has a whole bunch of broken idents. Do I have to manually correct the offsets for each inject? Cause if thats the case then i'll just mod each map individually and save a list of the mods somewhere.

EDIT2: I tried to save and inject a weapon that was unmodded, and after I injected the gun, some of the idents went missing. WTH am I doing wrong?

It's still doin the broken idents thing. I think you were mistaken about saving.

select the weap you want the meta for, Check "reqrusive" "paresd" "sound" (sorry for spelling errors, not at windows right now) and click save, and save it to your computer.

go to the map yu want to build it into. Check those 3 tings again. and click "build" and locate the .info for the tag. and wait.... then its done!

Whoa, thanks!
Quick question though, will that work for overwriting stuff? Cause what I am moving is in both maps, just one has some modifications.

bump

Your tutorial only works for movings NEW thing. I.E. The thing you are moving is NOT in the target map. I need a way to replace things in maps with modded versions. Is there are way to do this?

Mod the weapon to your liking. Check recursive and parsed. Save the meta somewhere on your pc as I said before. Make sure it's not renamed or anything. Then inject it into your new map whenever you want. It should overwrite your original meta.

You can swap the itmc of the battle rifle, to the new one, which should have a 910 at the end of it. Then it will spawn your new modded BR.
