How do I FTP the H2 files onto my computer?

Post by LinkGray »

How would I successfully FTP the Halo 2 files onto my computer, modify them, burn it as a disk and then hotswap it into my xbox?

Or is it not as easy as that.

Ok this is a really noobie question, but im bored and will answer it. Ok there is 2 ways to do this.

But first before you do anything with your xbox, you need to get a FTP program, I use CuteFTp 8 Pro, but you can use anything FTP you want.

And Second, you xbox MUST BE MODDED! If its not modded, FTP will not work!

First Way: 2 internet cords

Use one internet cord and plug your computer into your router (wireless link is fine). And then take the second internet cord and plug your xbox into your router. Then on the main screen it should say the ip of your xbox, open up the FTP program and type into the box the ip of your router, then type in the user name and password (usually both are "xbox
). Then insert the halo disc into the xbox and then on the FTP open drive D and click on the maps and download them from your xbox to your computer. And edit them and then you will upload them the same way to your xbox.

Second Way: Crossover Cable
You need a crossover cable, and then plug one end of it into your xbox and the other end into a ethernet port on your computer. Transfer the files the same way as explained in the top! ^^

***If your xbox isn't modded, and you do not know how, I am NOT going to explain it...use GOOGLE!***

Why must it be modded? Can't I diskswap using the technique where you stick something into a part of the xbox to make the disc tray pop out a bit?

Because a softmod has many capabilities including having a copy of halo2 on your XBOX HDD.

Plus, you don't have a danger of severely damaging your xbox cd drive.
