Post by seniorspedo »

i just found out about modding recently and i really want to get into it

but my computer is from like 2000 and its really sad

ive been looking at new computers and i was thinking about the dell xps 410

i was wondering if that would be a good choice for modding halo 2 on

Modding does not take much power on a pc at all really...As long as you have the .net framework 1.1 and .net framework 2 installed on your computer and have any kind of graphics card you should be good to go with modding halo2 (the only use of a 3d card is when modelling or using entity's item placement, but best to start off with basics and tutorials first)

Also as a side note, whilst your modding achievements may be huge to you when you first pull off a rapid fire, rocket shooting shotgun which is also dual wieldable, it would be wise not to release it on this site...Not so much because it isn't a fine acheivement, its just that this forum seems to have either a large amount of prestige for good quality, or that 90% of the users here are complete arseholes who will put you down for making a "noob mod", which will very likley discourage you from modding further...So keep your mods to yourself until you make something that will ROCK OUR SOCKS OFF!
and have fun ;)

Well you can skin the current vehicles and weapons, and you can also inject new models. So essentially yes, but injecting models is probably not the easiest thing to start off doing.

Yep just read up on anything you find interesting in the tutorial section and mess around. Its the best way to learn.
