How do I keep a skin in my cache? I want to have skins on lv

Ok, i'm not trying to cheat. I'm just looking to have eye candy on xbox live because i'm tierd of the same crap every time I play.

What I did that didn't work was:

1 rip h2 to my hdd
2 take maps off xbox and apply a skin to it, resign it
3 played the map
4 turned off my modded state
5 booted to my normal halo2 disc

That didn't work. I tried this on old and new maps.
I've read about this working but haven't wanted to try it until now because until recently i've always used Xlink Kai and not xbox live.

don't know anything about how halo chaches it's maps (well I know a little) but try using the shared.map instead of the map you actually want.
