To transfer .maps to Xbox Halos...

Post by Mike_Gnz »

...do I need anything besides an FTP connection from the box to my laptop? Do I have to do anything to the .maps I download off the Internet? If so, what, and, if you can spare the time, how? THanks in advance.

There is only 1 .xbe that is needed to run halo2.
Also don't speak of piracy here. Everyone here should know that piracy is illegal.

Guys, get back on topic.

And drewboi, that's not even what he asked so don't confuse him with .xbes tha only concern people that are having trouble putting halo 2 on their harddrive. Btw, juniorman, there was no speak of piracy but at least you read the rules and there shouldn't be any speak of piracy here in the future.

And to answer the question of this post. Once you have your maps ready, you ftp to your xbox then replace the correct maps with your new ones. Make sure that you resign your maps before putting them on. A good resigner if you don't have one is Encryptomatic Signature.

Maybe there is no speak of piracy if he meant by maps he downloads of the internet are ppfs/serenities etc.

If he means MAPS then yeah he's a arr butt pirate.

Ooo. I didn't even realize that sorry junior I thought you were talking about the .xbes. But if he did get them off the internet then all he can't do is ask for them or post the link. I don't think that telling you that he downloaded the whole map is illegal (eventhough doing that is pretty stupid in my opinion(waste of time)).

I'm sorry if I confused some of you guys. When I meant .maps, I meant the things that come in the .rars, I think (my BitTOrrent is acting screwy, and my knowledge of .rars is limited). I got the rars from the website that this forum is for. What I'm asking was/is:

1. After I use the BitTOrrent to DL the .rars, I
2. Open the .rars to get the .maps, then
3. FTP the Xbox to the laptop,
4. Replace the appropriate maps.

THat should be it, right?

EDIT: Wait, I'm confused now. What's the difference between maps and PPFs?

sounds right, Rar is like Zip, just get the .maps out of it and replace your orignals it Should work.

:::EDIT:::
A map is the whole level, a PPF is a patch for modifing a level.
