injecting and screwy shaders

I'm trying to inject an object into my map. I've done it before, but the messed-up shaders never happened to me. This time, I'm importing something for a much more complex model. First off, the model I'm importing is not all triangular faces (squares) and I'm wondering if anyone has a program to subdivide all the faces into triangles. And second, I don't have milkshape (and probably can't find the money to buy it,) so I need something that can regroup the models like it says to do in this tut: http://files.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=41989 . If anyone knows any other way to fix this, or has any programs or anything to help me, please help. Thanks.
