Can anyone help me on this? (pics of problem included)

Post by chaospoodle »

I'm working on my first actual mod, well... not my first, but I've been roaming modding sites for months and I finally decided to make a mod. When I say it is my first, I mean the only mod I ever did was a stupid newbie projectile and shader swap mod. I'm finally working on something to actually consider a mod.

I'm turning Beavercreek foggy like Backwash. I skinned the ground some and changed the lightmaps. One problem is that there are annoying stupid looking lines and shiny spots. The shiny spots piss me off because it is supposed to be kinda' dark, not have big shiny spots. And the lines just look fuckin' gay.

Here are some examples of what I'm talking about.

I'm not exactly sure what tag but maybe use ch2r's search feature on the map and find all the things dealing with light and see what you can come up with.

Even before I changed the lightmaps, they were there. I played with lightmap in Uberlightmap Tool and used ADI to darken the map.

I pratically fixed now it. You can still see the lines and shiny spots faintly, but barely. I played around with Uber and ADI and it's almost perfect now.

Oh, and I also skinned the walls now, too. That helped.
