Why doesn't games look like they do in 3ds max? What makes em look so crappy? Ok, so I have a bad vid card so what? In 3ds max, it looks ALOT better! I don't get it!

how does your xbox have a bad video card? i thought they all had the same one...?

They look different because 3ds max takes about 2 seconds per frame to render it, and the actual game takes 0.3 seconds per frame to render. The idea is to make something that can look good in Halo, and that takes a certain degree of skill in texturing and modelling, and in the creation of shaders.

Go ahead, render one of those whole levels in Max. It'll take you a minute or two most of the time.

In Halo 2, that has got to be done almost instantaniously. Super quick. So, either play with a delay of a few minutes in a game, or else sacrafice some quality. :wink:

3ds max doesn't look as long as good as the real Halo 2.
