You cant use the lift to get up there... it has a ceiling.

Yea, you can use sword cancel, but the grav lift has nothing to do with it.

Yes it does, in Ivory Tower there may be another good sniper area, over on the ramp where the overshield is, there is an airlift in the corner of the wall there. If you get an enemy to stand on the railing, and you sword cancel, you should fly into the corner and float there. Ive never used this as a sniping post so it would be cool if it worked out.

in lockout in one of the rooms on the lower level, there are sort of like ramps going up, go up on one of those and crouch and wait for your victim.

I'm not a sniper to the bone, but sniping is fun, and not too hard to avoid (there's a trick to confusing snipers).
