HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

So I collected some valuable links and info why people should go haloCE, everyone at least go on haloPC once a week and get about 5 peoples MSN adresses and link them all here.

For those of you who are here actually to check out what haloCE is, here you go: HaloCE is the unsupported upgrade of halopc (totally free, you just need a halo cd key), it has all the features of update 1.04 plus more. If you just want to download it here , but it is handy to read some stuff below and if you arent convinced yet, just read a bit and you will be
It is an installer and after that you can just play it by clicking the haloce icon. You will still be able to play halo regular, but as soon as you have seen some of the new maps most people dont want it anymore

You should play haloCE (halo custom edition) because:
-you can play custom made maps, which means MORE maps and new maps
-netcode has been improved, in other words: the "lag" halo has was taken away and you dont have to lead your targets
-bugs were fixed
-regular halo wont get updates anymore, haloCE will
-you can make maps yourself, by installing HEK (halo editing kit) (more info at the bottom)
-Haloce has a future regular halo doesnt
-There are new menu's by pushing f2 or f3 , giving your teammates names above their heads or showing the gamerules.
-There is no more cheating, because bungie took care of that
-A bunch of very good modders is going to recreate levels from halo2 and since halo2 probably wont come out for pc this is as close as you could get . (WHEN the map is out; below is a link to all maps that are out so you will find it there.) I think going here will convince a lot of people for haloce as well

Both HaloCE are pretty large downloads (over 150MB) so it is best to download it with Download Accelerator Plus,
that way, when a server times out you dont need to restart your download.

Further on there are two good maps released, nightcamp and claustrophobia, CLICK A PIC TO DOWNLOAD, the pics dont do it good, they have great gameplay and many tricks also it looks 10 times better ingame.

You need to click "filters" in the internet lobby and then select yes when it asks, show user created maps.
You first need to download them, once you have download them, unzip or unrar them and paste them into C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\maps

I think that covers it and everyone wanting to start with playing haloCE.



Now for when you want to make a map yourself(with HEK),

You will also need 3ds max, but I think you should buy that or search the web really good, I cant help you with that.

Looks like this is war, folks. People with Xfire, message everyone on your "friends of friends" list that are playing regular HALO and link them here, or at least you should!

Well halo pc WONT get updated for sure, haloce will and yes get more people and just link them here.

Okay, i just installed it tonight but now every time i try to join a multiplayer game it says "Server has closed down". Ahhhh...... How can i fix this?

I think you might have a cdkey being in use already. Otherwise try one of the [DD] servers, stands for drunk dragons and is very dedicated. These dont just close down so try here. Yes haloce has sort of a lack in dedicated servers but this servers pwns. The bloodgulch only is the one I am talking about its probably [DD]BGMania drunkdragons.com 16/16<-FULL LOL nah its a good server try there.
The only real error I can think of is someone used your cd key already.

i think it would be awsome if the exported halo ce to mac to it would be cross platform there for more players more games and servers more maps,mods etc. help push for it and put in a comment in the macmods section on the official petition thread please

I would kill my self if they stopped updating PC, I mean CE is fine and all.. But I like things that are made by the original makers.
