New Weapon Creation

Ok,
so i'm making a new weapon for halo ce and i was wondering what type of model extension the model has to be saved in
And, can i use milkshape to model it?

You have to model it in a program that can export to .3ds so you can import to a program that can export to .JMS. Or if you have 3ds Max 5-9, or Gmax. You can skip the first step.

i think useing blue streak you can export useing any version of 3dsmax. but i doubt anyone has 3dsmax 2 or 1... that would suck.

So i can't export it out of milkshape in a format that 3Ds max can read?

well from my experiance of trying to get sht from milky to 3ds... things have gone BAD.. but that was trying to do something different. and why would you want to model in milky. its sucks ballzzor

I was gonna get the main shape done in milk, then finish it up in 3ds

and yes, it got a little "messed up" when i opened it up in 3ds lol..

thats why you ALWAYS start the model in 3ds and always FINSIH the model in 3ds. file formats even ones as universal as obj dont like to go btw different programs.

I know, i just put it in 3Ds, and fixed what it messed up.
Thanks about the model :D it took me like 7 hours to make to get that far, and it still wasnt done
