Weapon rigging tutorial...

i need a tutorial on how to rig weapons. i need to make ammo counter and clip rigging so that my h3 battle rifle will actually act like a battle rifle.

skining. so that i can create nodes so thatn in the animation the clip moves like its suppose to.

that's not rigging. rigging is when you attach verticies to a bone so it stretches the mesh. what you want is linking. you link the parts of the model to a frame.

thats exactly what im trying too do. And rigging (from what i heard) means rigging a biped so the bones are attacthed tot he arms and whatnot.
and you cant link half of a fucking model. you have to skin it and like it that way.

all you do is cut the weapons into section. the magazine link it to the magazine node. then link the magazine node to the frame gun. etc for the other stuff.

you mean edit mesh>edit geometry>detach? then link it as a seperate mesh to a node.
areyou even alowed too have more than one mesh in a model. i though blitzkreig gets pissy when u do that.

yes. but when you import the gbx model it'll be one mesh again. so have a save.

... so thats why i thought when you rigged it had to be one mesh cause thats how it was done on all the original weapons

lol thats what you would call a "revelation" now i can finish setting up my awsome battle rifle. so that wehn i fire the grenade launcher he actually puts another grenade in it.
