connection Rejected

Yooo. THere a 2 comps in my house. ! being a laptop and the other just a pc. Well I have halo CE on both and I started up a party on my laptop and then on the othr comp looked for it but no games showed. Then I try it the other way around and the laptop didnt show the pc's game. Then I went to direct IP. When My pc tries to join the laptop it says "Connection Rejected: Your client is older than the server" And when I try to start a game on the PC and do direct ip it keeps saying "retrying server" but it never actually works. All of my games are up to date. Can anyone help me?
