Tried and tried - need help

Post by gadjtguy »

Wow I'm so excited to try and map a simple map for CE. But am running into trouble somewhere along the lines. Can anybody help?

Here's the deal - I can follow the tutorial's provided with the HEK. Using 3D Max was interesting at 1st, but got that down now.
I can create the model using 3dMax 8 (Trial). No STL errors.
I can export using the new blitzthingy. No errors.
I can go into tool, using the structure command. No errors.
I go into Guerilla and do what it says.
Then I go into Sapien and there is never a floor. The sky is fine. I can move around, but there is never a floor. Oh what I would give to have a floor.

BTW, I am only creating my original model with no buildings or contours at all. Just the tutorial ground bitmap and thats it. Well everything in part 1 of the tutorial. Also, I didn't want to just use the tutorial files, so I created my own "levels" folder to store things.

Would love to get on Teamspeak if someone feels like helping me.

THanks

That happened to me sometimes, sometimes the map doesnt go to you, so you have to look around in the viewport to find it.

Thanks for replying. I have looked around, and used "R" to raise myself up and look around.

There is a grey "floor" or something that is seperate from the sky.

What else could be wrong? Why didn't the bitmap show itself?
