Get Photoshop
Get Dual-Core
Get 2 GB of RAM
Get a PCI-E Graphic Card

That should make your comp run sweet.

In the years I've been here, I never thought I'd live to see someone say those words. Beautiful.

Well as far as pricing would go... you're definitely going to spend a couple hundred on those parts. 2 gigs of ram can run you past $100, and a dual core processor can as well... a PCI-E card really depends on what type of card you're getting, but you probably don't have a motherboard that supports PCI-E. So the motherboard plus a new, decent card can get you up to $250-300 there. So if you calculate the amount of money spent, you're getting into nearly a thousand bucks. As for the terabyte drive, you're going to have to buy several smaller drives and use RAID to get a terabyte... since there aren't any single drives on the market today that can hold a terabyte (internal drives, at least). So if you're going to build a new rig with all that stuff, expect to spend over a grand on it. And as for software, you need 3ds Max (if you can find Gmax, its free alternative somewhere, you could use that with a third party plugin for it). All the other tools you need come with the HEK. Oh, and if you want to work on textures and skins and whatnot, you're going to need something like photoshop or paint shop pro.
