HaloCE dedicated server

I have a few questions about CE DS and a bit that applies to Halo as well.

Is it possible to use CE DS without owning CE, like normal Halo? I have a friend on a 4mbit/s connection who lets me use his pc for a dedicated server on Halo and I would like to know if we can do the same for CE. Can you download just the ded files? Or can I send him the files I think ded will use and the reg entries that look applicable?

Also, his DS will not appear in the list but is perfectly joinable and playable. I'm pretty sure this problem will carry over to CE. He has a router, ZoneAlarm Security Suite(I have Pro) and we both have a very good knowledge of pc's. DS Will now work from my pc with ZA on medium

sv_name "[DE]Dedicated"
sv_public 1
sv_maxplayers 16
sv_rcon_password "As if I'd tell you"
sv_mapcycle_timeout 20
sv_tk_ban 5
sv_tk_cooldown 2m
sv_tk_grace 2s
sv_tk_penalty 5m 20m 1h 1d
sv_mapcycle_add hangemhigh "classic slayer"
sv_mapcycle_begin

We've also tried using sv_map instead a mapcycle. Incase you're wondering, I use rcon to change maps. Those settings are pretty good apparently but I was wondering if there is anything else. Thanks

No, you cant just dl the Haloce dedicated server. You still need Haloce and the mapfiles that seperate it from Halopc.

So I can't download a setup prog or zip. Will I be able to somehow put it on his pc without Halo. It goes without saying that he won't be playing it.

Not unless you want to do some serious registry hacking.

Fair enough, He's gonna buy it (obviously has money to burn anyway) and then it should work. Any ideas on the invisibility of the ded server though?
