Alright sorry for the big bump but I have something to add to the topic... I just got back to making my map cuz I'm bored and I'll tell you exactly what I did. I made my map, it's less than 5 miles cubed, but its height actually is exactly 5 miles. I used an MC reference frame I made myself using the measurements in the HEK tutorial. Then I set to work.
I made the main level, and another box that would be the secret room. Then I made a box and duplicated it a lot, and they would be the platforms in the level. And I made the reference box which is not huge, it's like 700 cubed or something. I textured everything (except the reference frame of course-is that where i messed up? I don't know) and linked all the boxes, and by now theres about 20 of them including the secret room, the level, and all of the platforms in the level, and I linked them all individually to the reference frame.
That means it isn't like under reference frame there's level, and then under level there's plat01. It's like, under reference frame, there's level, plat01 through 14, and secretroom.
And nothing is connected in the level. The platforms touch the sides of the main level box, but they aren't connected or anything in any way.
If it helps, each box in the level is separated into segments of 50 (except for the reference frame of course) and when I export it, it says processing level, which works fine, then gets halfway through plat01 and stops for a second before giving me the error.
BTW nothing in the level is more than 5000 units cubed.
Hmm... come to think of it, I tried to export the level with the MC reference frame still in it but not linked to the actual reference frame. Maybe that's whats the problem? Probably not, but I don't know.
Please help me out here! (Whew my fingers hurt)

Lol, I'm a humble 13 year old, how do you expect me to make hundreds of dollars? I kind of need a new computer anyway, and I want to buy H2V. In fact, H2V is one of the reasons I want to make this map-so I can play it in H2V.
And I refuse the try the trial version of 3DS. I HATE trial versions of software, that is if it's for a limited time period. Cause I usually have too much going on in RL, and by the time I'm finally ready to get to work with some trial software it's expired. It sucks. I love trials with no expiration date, and only some limited advanced features.
Like Halo Trial. It's almost like regular halo, but with less levels and vehicles, but hey, it lasts forever.
That's why I'll never download trial software that expires. Even if it's 3DS max.

You can drive at freakin 14... lucky.
Where do you work? I might work at Best Buy or something when I'm old enough. Anyway until then there's no way I could get 3ds. I'll have to use Gmax and the crappy user-made plugins that people have made. I can't figure out what's wrong though!
I have an idea, would it be possible to make the platforms become part of the level? Like not linking them, but making the objects platforms disappear and make their shapes become part of the main level geometry. So there'd only be 3 objects, frame, level and secret room. And if I knew how to do that I'd think of something to do with the secret room.
Would that be possible?

I can't drive, I get driven there. I just have to pay for the gas it takes to get there and back.0m3g4Muff1n987 wrote:You can drive at freakin 14... lucky.Where do you work?
I work at King's Island until I'm 16. Then I get my job at Best Buy as a Geek Squad employee.
You can attach the steps to the level if it doesn't intersect with it or have overlapping faces.0m3g4Muff1n987 wrote:I have an idea, would it be possible to make the platforms become part of the level? Ok thanks guys. I attached everything, I found out the problem was there were too many objects, and I tried attaching the platforms and got the error. Then I figured out that they were overlapping the level, and I recreated the entire level, and I'm exporting it now. It's processed level and it's at 95% at writing data. Thanks all, it's working!

I going to work there because I'm very computer knowledgeable and it pays good money.
That's all I'm going to say about this to keep this from being further derailed. I suggest you do the same darkmummy..
