Multipurpose Maps
Can anyone teach me a thing or two about multipurpose maps, such as what they do and how to make them?

multiperpous maps can control things like shine, glow, and colour
blue=colour
red=shine
green=glow
just make a normal bitmap using those 3 colours (so go happy in photoshop with the colour replacement tool) like differnt levels of red will determan differnt levels of shine, ect.
(you can also use that to make one shader that has 3 differnt things, like a light and a shiney something that has certain areas that has a differnt colour that isnt recorded in the bitmap)

Cool I always wondered how that works, how many different shades work? any number of red or only a certain range?kirby_422 wrote:multiperpous maps can control things like shine, glow, and colour

so thats how you can make bumpmaps for vehicles. COOL! do u think you can get a good multipurpose map from a vehicle which makes it look like its bumpmaped. so then i can have a look how it is made and then make my own. like the H2 hog that is in the H2 CE Maps. they must have multipurpose maps cuz they look bump maped. plase can someone post a pic of the multimap here please.
