CANT HOST GAME!!! NEED HELP!!!

when i try to host a game, net or lan, it sais "starting network server" for a while then it pops a window up saying canot conect to server, can anyone help with this, it is in CE and its a map that i wana try, ive tried other maps too and it hasnt worked. plz help if possible. thanks
