OK. 'scuse the personal ads style topic heading.
I'd like to move up a couple of levels and get back to some quality online
gaming with Halo CE.
I hate to say it, but I am getting a bit bored with the number
of appalling so called "mods" I now routinely encounter playing HPC online.
Oh yeah! You know the ones.
You join a game called "cool BG mod" and its just some invisible retard,
spawn-sniping from the clifftops with suped up homing rockets, while
unusable and badly warping vehicles drop continously from the sky all
around you. (Excellent!- NOT!!!)
So please help me out here if you can.
I can find loads of info and tutorials on how to skin, model and generally
mod cool stuff. But Where do I find a good Halo-CE GAME ON! type of
forum. One that informs established and wanna-be CE players of where
and when they can get their ass handed back to them, on any
particular evening or weekend and which maps to have loaded up?
Where do people post, "Halo CE players wanted - Friday Nights - Joes
Server 8pm on, using this map rotation....." or better still are there any game circuit postings
"someHCE clan vs. allcomers - someHCE clans server sunday 2pm on - Zanzibar"
I've tried searching online and there doesn't seem to be much going on
CE gamewise. I checked out the Sentinal page,(sounds like a V. cool
piece of kit BTW!) but it only had 2 servers listed.
Obviously, I'm not in a clan, and truth is I'm not good enough to be
asked. So pre-arranged clan matches don't help me.
Does anyone know if any Halo CE clans ever run open games against all-
comers on a particular night of the month?
Are there enough clans/ established players to start an open game
circuit/rotation with set dates and times, and advertise it?
When someone releases a new map or mod, how does everyone get
together to test it out?
If anyone knows where I can get the info I need to join,
PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
It would be awesome to be able to read some GAME ON! postings,
get some tips on tactics for new maps from more experienced players,
and actually plan an evening or even a whole weekends gaming in
advance.
Secure in knowing who's going to be on which servers and what maps
you'll need to check it out.
Anyone.....?

Well, I would love for Halo CE to expand. But, PC users don't come to it, and they themselves complain that it doesn't have people. Hypocrites...(i'm not talking 'bout u, i'm talking about the other guys).
When CE was new, it was FULL of people. Many many people! So many servers running! Now, it's not, because people wanted to go back to loading their maps faster. A giant sacrafice just for slow-loading maps...

Most never came in the first place, after gearbox took their sweet time getting the hek out. And it really isn't that great either. The hl2 sdk is much better and easier and they pulled it out in weeks, not months.
