Devmode Help

Post by XiTWooN »

Ok I wanted to take a really nice screenie for a sig. So the best thing to do was go into devmode and take a screenie right? Well I put this in my Target box: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\haloce.exe" -console -devmode

So when I started Halo CE up it gave me an exception!

So can anyone pleas help me, I really want to take a cool screenshot.

I'm not sure. Dont change the shortcut, go to your start menu navigate to Microsoft Games>Halo Custom Edition and there will be a devmode shortcut automatically there for you.

I dunno y but sometimes it does that when you fuck with shortcut extensions.

I did what you said and I still got the "gathering exception data" message. Well now i'm thinking that the CE no disk patch is the cuase of the problem. so can anyone give me the regular HaloCE exe file? It would really help if you did, I really want to take a nice screenie.

I had this problem, I don't know why, but it happened with the regular exe too.... I fixed it by simply reinstalling. You should too.

NOTE: ANY NEW DOWNLOADED USER-CREATED MAPS THAT YOU HAVE MUST BE BACKED UP TO ANOTHER FOLDER BEFORE YOU REINSTALL AS THE HALO SETUP WIPES THE WHOLE \maps\ FOLDER WHEN IT UNINSTALLS.

How does that fix anything?

Like... I'm not saying it doesn't but HOW deos it work? Is it that the init is only for MP and it'll crash if used, or what?

init.txt is for the creation of dedicated server's guidelines, and doesn't have anything to do with -devmode to the best of my knowledge.
