okay... I will make this very breif and straight foward...
1. have your map model already done (not always the case)
2. create a plane in 3ds max
3. convert it to editable mesh
4. make a material for it named: water!
5. apply the material water! to all the polygons of the plane
6. the plane can extend passed the map's borders because the ! in the material name (in other words this is an exception to the sealed world rules)
7. save and export you map (if finished)
