got a question with a model and a vehicle

im not sure how to explain what im doing but here it goes. im trying make a vehicle thats drivable but the chief isnt in the vehicle but on the ground controlling the vehicle and doesnt move. kinda like a remote control car where a car would move but the the driver stands still.

If it was for SP I would say just when MC gets in the vehicle, make him invisible and set a camera point right there, and follow the car from that point through scripts. But I think you want MP, so I don't know.

well i guess i didnt explain it too much of what i really want. if you have ever played Frontlines Fuel Of War, u can controll remote controled things with the camera fallowing the vehicle while you body remains back where you start. thats kinda more how i want it to be.
i was thinking of trying to to make a model permulation for a kinda 'base' where the MC is at and open to attack. then use a different permulation for the actuall vehicle. will something like this work? i never tried using model permulations and im just guessing what they do.
