I have open edges on my map and I need to know how u close them

weld teh vertices of the open edges to nearby vertices, that will close the open edges (most of them anyway, depends on where it is)

is you know you have them, but can't find them run an STL check

you can also create polygons in the gaps instead of welding

how do you create polygons from 3 or more vertices? i never figured out

put a box around all the vertices and weld them, that should close any open edges that you can see

to create polygons, you have to be in the edit mesh modifier. then, face mode. find the create button and then click the 3 points in a counterclockwise motion and it will creat the face.

BTW, watch the video tutorials, they are awesome and will help you gain a better control of 3dsMAX
