i am so made with HEK i followed the vid tutorail and when i get to the tool thing every thing falls apart i goto stat programs accessories then command prompt and i put in the halo cutome edit derectory and it says it not a recinized internal command i think it wat command promt im using im useing the documents and setting 1 i dont no wat 1 to use tho and when i try to get the bit map to a alpha thing and it says watever ground.tif does not exist and when i got it to work once and whent to gorillla and tryed to open it and it says there no work path and in the vid tutorial it says it would make a work path for you and when i try to compile it gives me a error

Plaese help i would be vary happy

Open the Command prompt and drah the tools file into the black window it worked for me.

it say not an enteranle comand u use oranatan then when the thing compiles and doesnt work I use that thats the only way it works

Put in EXACTLY this


cd C:\program files\microsoft games\halo custem edition\

that should bring you to the directory the type in tool.exe then what ever the video says...im not that far yet

dude i had the same problems check tut vid section about page 3 and over to page 4


it just leads to more problems

you spelled "custem" wrong. its supposed to be custom.

i got command prommt to work but im still getting the 0x0000003 error i would post the pic or the command promt but my internet is down and im useing my moms comp

Just use Tool Runner - It is much easier - I'll upload it to my site so u guys can download:

To install put it in your root Halo CE directory

Example: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition

Deadly_Shadow i put the toolrunner.exe into C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition an ran it, got this error

Componet 'COMDLG32.OCX' or on of its dependancies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

lol. Stupid creator... Umm... U pretty much need to install vb to get it working. I can post the dll if u want..

that would be nice, i have visual c++ install, i thought that would solve problem, i guess not.

thats not the same error. right when i compile the map the error 0x0000003 canot find the specific path i folded the tutoial exact

Ok here is a tip if you want to compile bitmaps from the comandline, use quotes arround the name ->"<-.

tool.exe bitmaps "<name>" without ".tif". This works for every bitmap I tryed. Do not put a drive letter directory (that helped me find this strange tool behavour).

i no how to compile the bitamaps i wont to compile th map to a senery tag or watever its called so i can use sapain
