I've been messing with guerilla and its friggen awesome. However, lets say I open up the cyborg_mp.biped to edit mc. I make my changes such as immune to falling and whatnot, click save, close, then exit guerilla, and open the game.
When I get into the game, no changes have been made. Can anyone please explain what process I need to go about to get my changes in game?
Guerilla
When you're changing the param's in guerilla, all you're doing is changing that tag files that get built into the map file...you're not changing map files that have already been built (the one's that are already compiled and sitting in the maps directory).
In order for you to see the changes, you need to build a custom map and then after messing with the tags and running radiosity and populating the level using sapien, you then need to use tool.exe to build the map file...(i.e. using the tool.exe command "build-cache-file directory\my_map")
I hope that made sense...I'm freaking too tired to think right now...

No, all he said was that those tags are the building blocks for levels, if you have the tutorial scenario, open it in sapien, add assets from tags...then you use tool.exe to build the assets into a .map file...if you want to use your own map, then you do have to create a BSP, but once thats done, use sapien, populate with tags, then build, and walla.Floyd wrote:So in order to do anything with guerilla, I have to make a completely new map...
That seems to be a big pain in the ass if you ask me.
And this is what gearbox did to make halo, live with it...or simply dont use it if you cant be assed or dont have the patience, cos the level would turn out sloppy and newbish if you couldnt be assed or had no patience...
