Ok, I extracted the bloodgulch.scenario using HEK+, and tried to open it in Sapien, but Sapien just opened up for not even a second and closed... What's up?

Check what the last entry in debug.txt says, its in your CE root folder.

Last entry, not last three entries. =P

Anyways, never seen that error before. I would try extracting it again. If that doesn't work, I'm sure someone else would know.

try extracting all the items within the level\test\bloodgulch folder. I think it's because there is no BSP, etc. for it to open.

You are missing tags. Go back in HEK+ and make sure you extract everything (it won't overwrite anything unless you have set it to do so, so don't be afraid to do it).

Oh ok. I thought you only had to extract the scenario. My bad :p

EDIT: It's still doing it :?

Ok, In hek+ right click the bg scenario. then when its in the extraction box. Click in the box on the left of it. Then extract.

I got it all extracted, but sapien keeps closing after opening the scenario... Why is it doing that?

EDIT: Duurr! Nevermind, I've been using the CE maps... I was wondering why it kept trying to get me to use pc maps..

Edit again: Damnit! It's still closing :\

ok.....im guessing that means ur trying to open .map files, by the way i read ur last post. try opening "bloodgulch.scenario". I might have misread it though. I dunno. Try also running sapien in compatibilty mode for windows 95.

is your desktop on 32 bit color? do you have dual core processors? do you have dual screens? ect. sapien needs to have 32 bit color, sapien 98% of the time has a hatred to dual cores, and I think its only 30% of people who it hates dual screens for.

I realy should post here to help you people more often, because everytime I come by, its always the most basic questions asked.. *sigh*

I'm running on 32 bit and no I don't have dual core processors. I'm not running on dual screens either.
I've used HEK before, but sapien always does this to me.

Post a DXDIAG (put it in run) and post what you have.
Your debug seems to be missing something I have.

09.22.07 22:32:03 sapien pc 01.00.00.0609 ----------------------------------------------
09.22.07 22:32:03 reference function: _write_to_error_file

09.22.07 22:32:03 Couldn't read map file './sapienbeta.map'

09.22.07 22:32:03 CreateDevice succeeded with refresh rate = 0
09.22.07 22:32:04 Sound card doesn't meet minimum hardware requirements. Disabling hardware option.
09.22.07 22:32:04 Increasing sound decompression buffer size to 1048576 bytes

09.22.07 22:32:31 local player 0, weapon (0x0), deleted unexpectedly

So have you tried opening the tutorial scenario?

And make sure you extract all the files in levels\test\bloodgulch to their proper locations. If that fails, post the last few lines of debug.txt. They will most likely reference to a missing tag or two. Just get those and it should work
