Vehicle help!
Anyone know how to put none existing vehicles like Pelicans, into a map?
The Pelican tag folder only has bitmaps.
How do I make them pelican.vehicle or something?
BTW, don't we need moderators here?
And some stickies, with links to HEK downloads?

I did this when messing around, I got the banshee into the tut map when it wasnt in via the tags....ill try it again and tell you how if I can remember lol.343halo wrote:yah im not really sure as to what to do to get new stuff into the scenarios, or even how to make a new scenario.but anyway im working on it and trying to find what i need to do to get new stuff into it.
Ok open sapien, and open the tutorial.scenario file. In the hierarchy view, open mission/objects/units/vehicles..343halo wrote:ok that would be great. oh btw i can find the tags just when i select them to put into scenario it never shows up in the hiarchy thing so i can't put it into the scenario. other wise i could.
On the right hand side of the same panel all the vehicles currently in the map will be listed (a warthog and ghost for red and blue teams).
Now, click edit types, and a box will appear showing the two vehicle types...click add..
To find a vehicle, navigate (in the tags folder) to
vehicles/vehiclename/ and select the vehicle tag. Once done click Done in the dialog box, then ok everything back to the screen, now with a vehicle selected, change type in the properties palette, to the new vehicle and walla, you've just imported a vehicle...
EDIT: Ok, after finding that the tut replaces a vehicle, just right click to create a new instance of the selected vehicle, and then select it, and change its type in properties to your new vehicle...
Strangely things like the wraith dont have a ready vehicle tag...hmmm...
They should have provided us with more, i mean whats the point of there being a folder with stuff in for wraith, if its un-usable...pointless....same for some of the options in the properties palette, not placed on easy normal hard etc? How the hell is that stuff useful to MP? Tell me that...

Can't, current versions of HMT and SE can't open CE map files...until mono releases a version that includes CE map support...343halo wrote:i have no idea how that would be useful but thanks for the help cause im at school right now and i can't plat with sapien myself so i thought that i would just ask.
Wait i have an idea. Maybe we can batch extract the file for the wraith or something and then import it into sapien.
Oh and that tut just shows you how to replace, I need to figure how to actually add lol, gimme 5 mins...
EDIT: Ok I edited my previous post....new vehicles instead of replacement vehicles....

No you batch extract from the old maps and maybe you'll be able to import into new ones.Pwn4g3 wrote:Can't, current versions of HMT and SE can't open CE map files...until mono releases a version that includes CE map support...343halo wrote:i have no idea how that would be useful but thanks for the help cause im at school right now and i can't plat with sapien myself so i thought that i would just ask.
