Help me out

Hey, I'm just starting and all this HEK stuff seems REALLY complicated! I have seen and I like some Halo CE maps that aren't made from scratch though, like Bloodgulch with AI on it. I'd like to make one of those because I don't have any 3d rendering program. So, my question is how can I take a multiplayer or singleplayer map and add vehicle spawns and objects from other maps. If you've played Rpg_beta 1 2 or 3, then that's the type of stuff I mean. Can anybody help me out?

Well you can get a free 3d program (that I use) to make halo maps. It's called gmax and you can find a download somewhere on this site I believe...
Anyway back to your question.
Sapien is part of the HEK. You use this program to open scenario files and add objects, player spawns, ai, and pretty much any gametype/vehicles/other objects you can think of. Since the HEK doesn't come with any scenario files (except the tutorial.scenario) you need to get the bloodgulch.scenario (or w/e map you want to edit in sapien) from theghost's "complete tagset". Search google for something like "halo ce complete tagset" and you should find something on the first search. That's what I did at least. Once you download these opening the .scenario file may not work (if i remember correctly sapien would close immediately after you open it.) If this happens your .scenario files are in the wrong spot. What you want to do now is copy the tags from the map you want to edit (in this case bloodgulch) and put them into your:
"halo custom edition\tags\levels\test\bloodgulch" folder
The files you need are bloodgulch.bitmap, bloodgulch.scenario, and bloodgulch.scenario_structure_bsp
all of these are found here: new_tags_only\tags\levels\test\bloodgulch
well for me they are but the new_tags_only folder is in the zip file from theghosts complete tagset. You should be able to find where I'm talking about from there. Phew sorry for the long post but
I hope this helps you with your map making :D

Or you can use HEK + to extract scenarios and other tags.
