place cmd (command prompt) --or at least a copy of it-- into the HaloCE root directory. Then make a shortcut to it on your desktop. Now whenever you start The shortcut, it will be in that directory.
or you can do it manually everytime which is really annoying. Let me know if you need help.

That's an error automatically built into tool. It means nothing, just ignore it.

If you wait that error will go away.
And for reference, go to to the root of Halo you can use the command:
Code: Select all
cd \program files\microsoft games\halo custom edition\

the errors represent open edges. In 3ds max, you can highlight everything then do an STL check. After the STL check is completed, it should tell you where every open edge is. Or you can import the .WRL file, which also shows.

Are you using 3ds max, or Gmax?
There's a number of ways to fix open edges, for small holes (four vertexes and less) I think the easiest is to target weld:
In Gmax, (and edit mesh mode in 3ds) all you need to do is select a vertex an open edge and drag it to another vertex on the same open edge.
In 3ds max in edit poly mode, just click on the vertex, then click on the other, very handy when you have to weld ALLOT of vertexes!
For large holes (Five vertexes or more), I usually create a new polygon:
In both programs, mesh and polly mode, select polygon sub-object mode (click the red square) and select "create" click on each one of the vertexes around the "hole" in a ccw circle, and on the last one double click. Be careful not to miss any, or you will just make a smaller hole, lol.
Hope this helps!
PS: Thanks for the tool.exe tip, pie, no more typing in the stupid root directory
