Im trying to make hummer tags, but when I try to make the collision and the physics tags I get the following errors in tool.

Code: Select all

###ERROR model file has wrong version number.
###ERROR failed to import geometry 'hummer-collision'.jms'.
###ERROR failed to create intermediate model 'vehicles\hummer\hummer'.
Same error for both physics and collision geometry, how do I fix this.

I don't know if this will help, but I think it's supposed to be "hummer_collision" not "hummer-collision" but I that might just have been a typo on your part or I might just be wrong.

Ill try that. But I think I found the root of the problem. When I export it 3ds max crashes, but it still makes the file. I unlinked all of the markers, but it still didnt work what else do I need to try.

EDIT: Renaming did not work.

that's happened to me a couple of times, I've found that usualy it just creates a blank document named "Whatever.jms", you can check this by opening it in some text editor and seeing if it's blank, but the only way I could ever get it to work was by re-doing the collision model, which sometimes doesn't work, just keep re-doing it (ya, it's annoying to do) until it works, but it may never work.
As a last resort you could try using Chimp to export the collision model but I have never gotten Chimp to work and would only use it as a VERY last resort.

if u use max 7 i find that blitzkreig for 6 doesnt work right, but blitzkreig for 6 on 6 works fine

allright when that error comes up its usally because you dont have a model(dont ask but it helped me to have the model in the same area)
if that wont work then check to see if the matrial name is collision_geometry. and name the collision itself collision_geometry.
if all else fails. create a new collision.
and using - isnt the problem.

Im using max 6. I renamed everything to collison_geometry with still no luck. Im gonna try to recreate it and see if that works.

also make sure your collision model is simple. like just a box taking form of the boject varly roughly. it shouldnt really go over 150 vertices. (my oppinion anyway) and if its a simple vehicle just make a box.(like if its a worthog) but if its a fighter (like the banchee) make the collisoin a box with a some minor editing to fit the wings. get what i mean?

Oh one more thing. Try typing

Code: Select all

tool.exe collision_geometry vehicles\Vehicle_Name

I made the collision simple, like a box, but it still didnt work. Would it have something to do with the markers i have, the collision is supposed to have markers right?

If your using Chimp, just hack the idea of a hummer man. no JMA exporter....

theres a diffrence between the jms files and the jma files. he is doing jms. not jma. and he stated hes not using chimp.
