Degenerate triangles

Post by L0d3x »

Hey there y'all, merry holidays etc!

Anyway I made a map (nothing super, just a testmap for now) and I exported it as a jms and all that. However when I type in the structure command in tool it says WARNING found 1234 degenerate triangles...

And of course fails to import bsp collision etc...

What does this mean and can I fix it?

Thanks in advance!

I think it means there is a polygon that isn't being being triangulated properly and tool goes bad.

Is there a way to fix this?

I'll go into a bit more detail: I made a map in blender, added some bases and attatched those to the map correctly (created new polygons around the base etc). When I was done I exported it as a DXF file, and imported this into gmax. I then made a frame, and linked everything correctly I think.

Then used chimp, exported as jms.

Do you think blender uses a different system perhaps pertaining to polygons (as in it doesn't triangulate them the way gmax does)?

PS: what did you mean with 'triangulated'?
