Every time I open sapien it closes instantly. I looked in the debug file and it says

ok, I worked out my problem, I hope this helps the rest of you out.
uninstall CE,HEK and HEK+ and check in you microsoft games (or wherever haloand halo CE are installed) for any folders that haven't been removed and delete them. so you should just have your halo PC folder.
reinstall CE, HEK then HEK+ now all your files should be nice and clean.
Open HEK+ and use it to open (for example) Bloodgulch, but use the bloodgulch from your Halo CE map folder.
select all the tags and put them in the extraction queue.
in settings make sure the extraction destination is the Halo CE tags folder and that it DOESN'T overwrite existing files (I think this was what was buggering up my files).
extract the tags and you should be able to open up the scenario files fine.
also works for single player maps, should you want things like ACTV files for AI.. etc.
