i cant see my map in sapien!!

sorry if you have to download it. i followed everything perfectly... i think. then when i open sapien i see the sky and stuff and see half hills. there there but not really kinda brownish hills. i did radiosity_quality 0, radiosity_start, and radiosity_save but didnt see my map. help me plz. maybe the tuts wrong but ive never mae it this far! im so pissed of right now....

Are your bitmaps width and height the same dimensions?

I have the same problem, except I think its my 3ds Max. I'm able to create scenery but not bsps.

umm... you lost me... i dont understand computer talk lol. i think my sapien is screwed up. i even tried looking at the tutorial thing that came with hek and that is just a bunch of half hill and trees and stuff. the only thing i can do is look around me with the mouse. cant move or anything. can i just download sapien again or do have to re install HEK? cause that would suck.

reinstalling sapien won't help a thing.

Before opening your own map, try opening the tutorial scenario. It's located at tags\levels\test\tutorial\tutorial.scenario

If you don't see the level, post your graphics card specs, you may need to upgrade.

thats probably it. ive been looking to upgrade my graphics card for a while cause nothing ever looked right in halo. all the graphics were always smeared. how do i upgrade it? do i have to buy it? cause i dont want my parents to find out till i buy my own computer lol. and where do i find my graphic card specs? this might help

Probably on the front of your computer, or in your computers manual.

*looks in front of computer* what? i see a big black box that says "dell" on it... give me an example. is it like pentium 4 proccesor? is that a graphic card? i'll have to really pry my parents for the manual cause they think halo is messing with the computer lol.

What kind of dell do you have, I can get your GFX card specs from that.

You have a deminsion 2400, ugh, that sucks, its the same as mine. You should upgrade your directX though, but if you want to play halo properly you will need a need a new graphics card. And the 2400 doesn't have a AGP slot so ou would need to get a PCI one. I know all of this because I made the mistake of bying a computer from dell instead of building my own.

sweet. is it hard to make you own computer? cause if its not that hard then i will ask someone to help me with it. i have a couple people i know that know things about computers. how much does a good graphic card cost?

yay! this morning i was messing around with sapien and i can see the map but cant see the textures. the ground is kinda all brownish pixelized sorta... and when i try and add a tag it dosnt let me add anything even though i doo add , ok, done nothing shows up!

After you add a tag you have to actually place it in the map and your map is brown because you most likely did not make shaders for your ground texture.

i did it! i made the map! im going to try it out later though cause im gonna take a nap. im pretty shure i made shaders. if not then ill make a new map
